We had the standard cheeseburgers and hot dogs, along with a few sides.
Red, white, and blue fruit salad.
Broccoli bacon salad (delicious, give this one a try!).
Broccoli bacon salad
2 bunches of broccoli, slightly cooked
1 lb. bacon, cooked and broken into small pieces
1/3 cup red onion, diced
12 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp. white vinegar.
Combine all ingredients and chill before serving.
I made mini brownie muffins for dessert. I prepared the batter as normal, divided it into a large mini muffin pan and then baked at 350 for 14 minutes.
I just got done folding laundry. While Macy naps. And a soap opera plays in the background.
So, this is what it feels like to be a housewife… I like it 🙂
My Dad and Blake worked hard all day to finish up some work in the kitchen. My dream kitchen is coming to life!
A HUGE thanks to my Dad, who is such a hard worker and prides himself on perfecting every cabinet that he builds. He is so talented and I feel so lucky that he built this kitchen for me. Every time I look at my kitchen I will be reminded of all the hard work, time, and love that he dedicated towards this project.
Yesterday we had a nice time at Lake Shickshinny celebrating Kathryn’s first birthday. The weather was beautiful, but the company was even better.
Since the sun was shining, I worked on my tan while Macy swam, swam, swam!
We tried to get a picture of all three girls, but this is best we got. I guess we need some practice with child photography skills.
the simple things in life.
Yesterday we had a relaxing day and enjoyed the (mostly) sunny weather.
I found some new sand toys in the attic, that Macy was thrilled to have. Elmo also enjoyed his new form of transportation.
Blake was in all his glory, with both dogs crawling on him.
In the afternoon we went to Mercedes’ parents house for some food, fun, and swimming (for those crazy enough to swim in 75 degree water). I was a bad mom and didn’t take Macy’s swimsuit because I knew that I didn’t want to go swimming with her. So, we improvised and she wore her diaper with the bloomers from her dress to splash around on the top step.
I look awful in this last picture… I really hate it. But I love the two girls in it with me, so I figured it’s worth a post 🙂
