a blog about my busy little life as a mom

On Sunday I participated in the Runners World Half Marathon, in Bethlehem, PA.  I rode down with my friend James, who ran his very first half (yay!) and we arrived before the sun was even up!  I haven’t seen this hour of the day in a long, long time!  Luckily, I had a cup of coffee and the pre-race jitters to wake me up.image (18)

The race started at the Sands Casino at 8:30 AM.  It was a cold start, but we got warmed up pretty quick.

I LOVED this course.  There were rolling hills, but every challenging uphill came with a recovery downhill.  The scenery was beautiful!  I was also happy to have a friend (James) to be running with.  Even though we barely talked the whole race, he pushed me to do my very best.

We finished in 1:45, my best time yet!  Whoo hoo!  I didn’t know what to expect because I had been a slacker with my runs throughout the month of October, so I was pleasantly surprised!

Afterwards, I rewarded myself with a ShockTop Pumpkin Spice beer.

I don’t think I want to do another half marathon any time soon, but a 5K or 10K sounds good!!
