The dinner featured 5 courses, with wine pairings from Mountain View Vineyards, a local winery.
Nut Crusted Brie with Cinnamon, topped with Cranberry Chutney
I didn’t snap a picture, but this was delicious. Brie isn’t usually one of my favorites, but the cranberry chutney made this cheese wonderful!
Goat Cheese and Sauteed Leek Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms
Filet Mignon stuffed with Blue Cheese. Served with Blue Cheese Mashed Croquette.
Smoked Trout served with Bell Pepper, Caper, and Dill Relish.
I guess I have become a smoked trout snob since Blake’s family used to own a trout hatchery. I have to admit that I have had better smoked trout- compliments of my MIL Beth, but the relish served with the trout was a nice addition.
Peanut Butter Pie topped with a Chocolate Ganache, drizzled with a Mountain Goat Red Wine Reduction
The final verditc- I didn’t fall in love with any of the wines, but I did enjoy how each wine perfectly complimented the accompanying course. I would definitely attend another wine dinner and there will be one in the fall. Who wants to come?
Of course, we had some room left to enjoy another glass of wine with our good friends. Seriously, love this couple. If possible, I am now even more excited for our annual beach trip!!
